Svatost\u00e1nek z roku 1897 se nach\u00e1zel na dne\u0161n\u00edm Palachov\u011b n\u00e1m\u011bst\u00ed a byl centrem \u017eidovsk\u00e9ho \u017eivota v Olomouci. Ohe\u0148 v olomouck\u00e9 synagoze zalo\u017eili \u201enezn\u00e1m\u00ed pachatel\u00e9\u201c v no\u010dn\u00edch hodin\u00e1ch ze dne 15. na 16. b\u0159ezna 1939 a byl ha\u0161en a\u017e do odpoledn\u00edch hodin 16. b\u0159ezna 1939. Po\u0161kozeny byly p\u0159edev\u0161\u00edm d\u0159ev\u011bn\u00e9 \u010d\u00e1sti hlavn\u00ed kopule synagogy a d\u00e1le neur\u010den\u00e1 \u010d\u00e1st jej\u00edho vnit\u0159n\u00edho za\u0159\u00edzen\u00ed. Vlastn\u00ed po\u017e\u00e1r se stal jen z\u00e1minkou ke zbour\u00e1n\u00ed synagogy, kter\u00e9 bylo zanedlouho m\u011bstem na\u0159\u00edzeno a prob\u00edhalo a\u017e do b\u0159ezna 1940. P\u0159i vzpom\u00ednkov\u00e9m setk\u00e1n\u00ed promluv\u00ed p\u0159edseda \u017didovsk\u00e9 obce Petr Papou\u0161ek, vrchn\u00ed zemsk\u00fd rab\u00edn Karol Sidon a prim\u00e1tor m\u011bsta Miroslav \u017db\u00e1nek.
